Healthy Eating Initiatives

Hunger and health are deeply connected. People who are food insecure are greatly affected by chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and according to research, food insecurity is also linked to many adverse effects to overall health. Hunger cost Ohio more than $6.97 billion in direct costs related to health care, lost educational attainment, and diminished productivity.

Our Foodbank is helping people in need access healthy foods by sourcing and distributing more foods that promote good health, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy and lean proteins. 

Ohio Agricultural Clearance Program (OACP)

The program directs surplus agricultural products from more than 100 Ohio farmers, growers, and producers to families struggling with hunger, preventing unnecessary waste and reducing losses in the agricultural industry.

Ohio Food Program (OFP)

The program makes nutritious, shelf-stable foods and protein items, including peanut butter, fresh eggs, and beans available. 

Mobile Farmers Markets
